Little Embroidery Accessories

There is something about receiving packages in the mail that just brightens my day — especially when they contain lovely little embroidery accessories. Recently, I splurged a little and bought some very cute little pins and other embroidery/sewing accessories from the Hands On Workshop (HOW), which ships artisan-made items from Australia and Japan.

They arrived in a few different shipments and were all adorably packaged:

This little cherry wood box contained some glass-head pins:

These shouldn't stain my silk fabric when I'm transferring patterns in my Japanese embroidery. And this tiny box is just so cute!

And look at these itty bitty little scissors:

Aren't they adorable?! Surely TSA would let me take these through security! 😂 You can see from the penny I included for size that those blades are only about a quarter inch long. They wouldn't be much good for cutting anything other than a couple of threads, but hey, sometimes that's all you need.

And I love this little sea green needle threader at the top of the photo below — it's super fine for tiny needles, of which I use a lot in JE:

The little pink macaron is a needle minder and sharpener. I actually saw this one on Inspirations Studios' Instagram, but I had already spent so much on HOW that I couldn't justify the fairly high price and $15 shipping from Australia at that point. But another Instagrammer helpfully commented that this was available from Amazon for those who didn't want to pay for shipping from Australia. And sure enough, I was able to get it for $15 and free shipping.

This little pin cushion, though, with all the adorable glass-head pins is my favorite thing:

The pins look like little candies. I love them! 😍

And just for funsies, here are all the little things I ordered, including some Akoya shellfish push pins shaped like flowers, there in the middle at the top:

I freely acknowledge that I spent way too much on them — and the shipping was almost prohibitively expensive. But sometimes a little spending spree on lovely things is necessary.
