Lace Bookmark

Several weeks ago, I started making a new lace bookmark — this time, one for myself. I give almost all of my lace bookmarks away, but I decided it was time I made one I really liked to keep. So I chose a lovely teal blue thread and started on this very small project:


It looks more baby blue in the above photo, but that's just the lighting. I did the fan edges in half-stitch, which I think is so delicate and lacy looking, and the center in rose ground, which is elegant and pretty. Here is the completed bookmark:


The color in this photo is a little more true to life. I love how it turned out. These bookmarks really only take five or six hours to do, but I have to be in the mood to work on lace, which is why it took me so long to complete it. But I'm happy I did because now I have a bookmark in my preferred color and designs. 😊
